Laser Cladding

By using laser cladding or laser deposition, one material can be added to the surface of another in a controlled manner. During the scanning process of a laser beam, a stream of a desired metallic powder is fed into the beam, which deposits a coating of the chosen material on the surface. In this way, the deposited material is applied selectively, precisely, and with minimal heat input to just the right place. We offer superior material deposition solutions that meet the demands of our customers with our laser cladding technology.

  • Focused laser energy creates a melt pool on the substrate. Metal powder is blown into the melt pool as the processing head moves across the part. This creates a metallurgical bond between the substrate and the added metal. A narrow heat affected zone is achieved with minimal heat input.
  • With laser cladding wide variety of metals can be added e.g. Inconel, Stellite, Tungsten Carbide blends, Stainless Steel, Hard Chrome Replacement, Tool Steels.
  • Efficient and precise addition using the optimum laser spot and deposition rate for the job.
  • Single layer thickness 0.5mm-2mm. Multiple layers can be added.
